Meet Me-Barb Kandel

Barb Kandel

Patron Services Clerk

Barb has worked at Orland Park Public Library for 14 years. She can be found at the Welcome Kiosk or the circulation desk in the lobby at the library. Patrons might also speak to Barb if they call the library, as she answers the main library phone.

Barb enjoys her work.
“I like working with people and being part of the community,” said Barb.

Like many people that work at the library, Barb loves books.
“I read many different genres of books, but historical fiction is one of my favorites,” said Barb. “I also utilize the other collections in the library such as movies, music, etc.”

When she isn’t working, Barb enjoys get-togethers with family and friends. She also reads and gardens.

Barb’s favorite part of the library is on the second floor. She enjoys the many quiet places that she can read and study in Adult Services.

The Orland Park Public Library serves the residents of the Village of Orland Park. The library moved into its award-winning 93,000 square foot building in September 2004.

Patrons of all ages have access to a well-rounded collection of both print and non-print materials, educational and recreational programs, computers and instructional computer classes, excellent reference service, outreach programs for seniors and home delivery patrons, and storytimes for children.
