Library Presents Summer Concert: The Ava Logan Quintet

Orland Park Public Library will be presenting The Ava Logan Quintet on Sunday, June 24 at 2 p.m.
Ava Logan is an award winning singer-actress. Logan, a graduate of Yale University and the University of Pennsylvania, is a veterinarian by day and a jazz singer at night. Ava is a native of Washington DC. Presently, she resides in Orland Park, IL. just outside of Chicago. Internationally, she has performed in Minsk, Belarus and Moscow and Rostov, Russia. She has also performed in Paris, France and Rome, Italy. Nationally, she has performed in Sarasota, FL for the Jazz Club of Sarasota on various occasions.
Logan also appeared, with rave reviews, at the Mendocino Music Festival with the Mendocino Jazz Orchestra. Ava has performed at Vibrato Jazz Club in Bel Air, CA. and she has performed for three Benefit Galas for the Lorraine Jackson Foundation, in Beverly Hills, CA. She has also appeared twice at benefits for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women of Orange County, CA. Locally, Logan's theater performances include Ella Fitzgerald & Friends, Skokie Theater and Lena Horne & Friends, Skokie Theater. She played the role of Ella Fitzgerald & Nancy Wilson at the Black Ensemble Theater in Chicago. She has appeared at various national and local jazz festivals, most noted, the Glen Ellyn JazzFest, IL. She has also performed extensively at many local theaters, jazz clubs and hotels. Her debut CD, “So Many Stars”, received national airplay and rave reviews.
