Meet the Artist - Carrie Carlson

Aug. 31, 2017
Orland Park Public Library will be featuring the works of Carrie Carlson in the Adult Services section upstairs between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30. Carlson will stop in to talk about her inspiration and history with interested patrons on Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m.
A scientific illustrator, freelance artist and instructor at the Morton Arboretum, Carlson sees art and science as closely intertwined. With an eye for the beautiful and unique structures and details of the natural world learned from her experience in field sketching, Carlson brings scientific study and artistic appreciation to landscapes, botanical studies, and nature's smallest objects and winged creatures.
The event is free, and patrons interested in asking Carlson questions should congregate near the central Adult Services reference desk.
The Orland Park Public Library is located at 14921 Ravinia Avenue in Orland Park, IL 60462. Hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
