Free Summer Concert at Library

Jul. 25, 2016
Orland Park Public Library’s last concert of the Summer Concert Series is coming up on Sunday, July 31 at 2 p.m. at the library pavilion.
Chicago based singer, Laura Joy, will be painting pictures with sound and lyrics in this free concert for Orland Park Public Library patrons and the public. Having been compared to Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne, Joy has played all across the United States. Her original song, “Takes A While” was even named “Best Original Song of 2015” by NPR’s 90.9 WDCB Folk Festival show hosted by Lilli Kuzma.
Joy’s music style can be best described as poetic, acoustic pop, and she plays it most at Midwestern festivals and libraries. Laura Joy concerts are enjoyed best by adults, but they are always family friendly. Children are invited to attend.
Those interested in music should return Friday, September 16 at 7 p.m. for Showcase in the Lobby, the library’s fall/winter concert series, featuring new artists each month. Classically trained musician, Tom Sharpe will be performing.
