Seniors

The Next Chapter

Just past the magazines you will find the newest "area" in the library-The Next Chapter, especially designed with older adults in mind. We've purchased new lounge chairs with a higher seat elevation (19"), firmer cushions and stronger arms to make your time at the library more comfortable. The Next Chapter is ideally located near the magazines, newspapers and large print materials.

Curl Up With a Good Nook!

Have you been curious to try the Nook eReader? Now you can check one out at the Orland Park Public Library. Beginning in July, there will be two Nooks available for circulation in the Adult Services Department and two more available for our homebound library patrons. The Nooks will be pre-loaded with a selection of new bestsellers and classic titles. The Nook software allows users to change the text size from very small to extra large to accommodate readers of both regular and large print books. This feature will allow patrons with low vision to read books that are not normally published in large print. For more information about checking out a Nook, adult patrons should call the Reference Desk at (708) 428-5150 and homebound patrons can contact Kelly Cuci in the Outreach Department at (708) 428-5114.
