WiFi

We offer free wireless Internet access to the general public. The library is compatible with 802.11b/g wireless cards. You must provide your own wireless-enabled laptop or device.

To use our WiFi, connect to the wireless network called oppl-open and agree to the Library's Internet Policy.

Due to the variability of system configurations, staff are not able to provide technical support.

Computer Services

The library offers internet computers and printers, wireless internet access, classes on basic computer literacy topics, and help with using the computers. For information call (708) 428-5171 and ask for the Computer Help Desk.

Public Computers

Information Commons

Seventeen workstations with internet access are located behind the Computer Help Desk. Open to users 18 years old and older with a signed Electronic Information Networks User Agreement on file and to users 10 to 17 with an Electronic Information Networks User Agreement also signed by a parent or guardian. Time limit: 1 hour. Printouts are $0.10 per page, black and white, $1.00 per page color. No charge for Internet use.

Teen Cafe and Youth Services Information Commons

Twelve YS workstations are located on the first floor in the Youth Services Department and three in the Teen Cafe on the second floor. Internet Access is filtered on these computers. Workstations are open to users 10 to 17 years old with an Electronic Information Networks User Agreement signed by the user on file. A parent or guardian must sign an Electronic Information Networks User Agreement for youth under the age of 10. Time limit: 1 hour. Printouts are $0.10 per page, black and white, $1.00 per page color. No charge for YS Internet use.

Preschool Computers

These computers are preloaded with educational games that focus on pre-reading skills, numbers, art and more. Parents/adult caregivers must stay with the child while they are using the computers. Time limit: 30 minutes. For more information, call Youth Services at 428-5134.
